Sunday Post #2

Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba @ Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It's purpose is to recap over what you did this week and your plans for next week.

This week I finished reading  The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath and I reviewed it here. I started Pride and Prejudice and I'm nearly finished with it. I'll review it when I'm finished. I will hopefully be reading UR by Stephen King next. It's a short story so I should be starting something new soon after that.

I reviewed Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro which I read a few weeks ago.

I will be buying some books on Tuesday so I'll hopefully have a book haul post for that. I will be reading and reviewing the books I get.

I have made progress with my classics challenge. I have read two out of the seven classics this week.

I made some goals for this summer and one of them is to read and watch all of the Harry Potter series again. I started that yesterday and watched the first movie, The Philosopher's Stone. I will hopefully have some sort of a discussion post about the movies when I'm finished watching them next weekend. I'll do the same when I have the books read.

I also have a book haul on friday in which I got many awesome titles from NetGalley. Those books are my top priority to be read and reviewed.

I also made a giveaway and you can win many great prizes such as the Harry Potter series and some awesome YA titles.

What did you read this week? What are your plans for next week? Let me know in the comments!

  2. I LOVED the Bell Jar! If you enjoyed it, I would recommend reading Demons in the Age of Light by Whitney Robinson.
I even posted a review of it here: http://leahslitandcoffee.blogspot.com/2011/10/book-review-demons-in-age-of-light-by.html

    Have a great week! :)

  4. I have only seen bits and pieces of the HP movies. I have read all of the books, but I don't seem to have the patience for the movies. I hope you enjoy rewatching them!

    1. I love the movies! I saw the first 3 before I read the books because I was too young to read them when they came out. But I love both. Of course, the books are better.

  5. I loved the HP so much - I remember how magical they seemed the first time I read them through. I've avoided the movies for the most part, which a friend keeps telling me is a mistake. :)

    1. It definitely is a mistake. As much as the movies annoy me in comparison to the books, they are awesome as a stand alone. The special affects are amazing especially in the last 2 movies. You should really check them out. The books are magical, I loved them and still do.

  6. Re-watching and reading of Harry Potter is something I love the do :D I love the books more than the movie, but still, seeing all my 'friends' on the screen is an amazing feeling :) Happy reading and watching! :D

    1. Thanks! I'm not a big fan of the first three... I loved them when I was younger but not so much now. I love from 4-7, though. They are so amazing and magical and very dark, which I loved!
