at the time, you didn’t feel a strong connection towards, but as time
goes by you find yourself thinking about it a lot?
Yes! This has happened to me on several occasions, though I can only recall one book which I read recently that made me feel like that; Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. I heard so many great things about this book and when I read it I didn't think much of it. I am still thinking about it, 3 weeks later and Tyler Durden is still lingering in my mind.

This happened to me a couple of times in my reading for 2011. Those are the most recent examples I can remember.

This happened to me, too! Only on a few accounts, though.I didn't fall in love with the WHOLE book, just the characters, their traits, and their individual background stories. LOL, ooh! Flight Club is actually on my TBR-list.
